May 17, 2017 – Morneau Shepell, administrator of CUPE 409’s benefit plans through Pacific Blue Cross (PBC), has advised that negotiations between PBC and staff, members of CUPE Local 1816  are in collective bargaining and there may be possibility of a strike. They have also indicated that Pacific Blue Cross has issued a notice to Plan Members, available through this link.

Morneau Shepell has written that “PBC has confirmed that in the event of a strike, paper claims will be received, opened, date stamped and stored securely onsite so when work resumes they will be processed in accordance with any claiming deadlines”.
