Welcome to the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 409

Our communities depend on quality public education services, and those services depend on people to deliver them.

Welcome to the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 409 website where you will find information about our union that provides quality representation for our members who work as support staff in the New Westminster public school system from grades K through 12.

Public school workers are a vital part of our public school system. They have a positive affect on every part of a child’s experience at school: they provide important assistance to students at every level, they make sure our schools are clean and maintained, they provide vital support services for teachers and they make our public school system run smoothly and efficiently.
